From the summit guests are able to take a walk in the reserve between 500 different species of fauna and flora. There are several photo opportunities along this winding route which will leave you at awe. Watch the sun set over the Little and Great Karoo as we return to Kobus se Gat restaurant.

Embark on a picturesque tour from Oudtshoorn that takes you through charming towns, breathtaking landscapes, and a delightful dining experience. Here’s a tour description starting from Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape province of South Africa, known for its ostrich farms and beautiful mountains.

8:30 Begin your journey departing from your guest house
towards De Rust.

9:00 First stop visiting an seed, animal & vegetable farm (mix farm) where the guide will give you more information about the farmers in the area and give you more insight into the animals.

From the farm, we embark to De Rustica, where they will do olive tasting

After visiting De Rustica, we drive towards the quaint town of De Rust. This charming village is nestled at the foot of the majestic Swartberg Mountains and offers a tranquil atmosphere and beautiful landscapes.

Continuing your journey, make your way to Meiringspoort, a stunning mountain pass renowned for its natural beauty. As you drive through the Poort (Afrikaans for “gorge”), you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring views of towering cliffs, dramatic rock formations, and the winding Groot River. We stop and take a leisurely 250m walk to the Meiringspoort Waterfall, a cascading marvel that adds a touch of magic to the scenery

12:40 After visiting the beautiful Waterfall, we depart to Klaarstroom for coffee and milktart at the authentic Klaarstroom Guest House. Klaarstroom Guest House is owner managed by Jeremy and Sharon. Jeremy share all the secrets of this small little town with our guests.

After experiencing the splendor of Klaarstroom, head towards the charming town of Prince Albert. Known for its well-preserved Victorian and Cape Dutch architecture, Prince Albert offers a nostalgic glimpse into the past. Explore the quaint streets lined with galleries, boutique shops, and coffee houses.

14:30 Lunch in Prince Albert

As you bid farewell to Prince Albert, prepare for an unforgettable drive over the Swartberg Pass. This mountain pass is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Wind your way up the steep slopes, marvel at the rugged terrain, and relish in the sense of adventure that this iconic route provides. You have a chance to take a small hike in the reserve to explore the beautiful nature & fynbos
